From house to home

Well I have been working for almost a month on the house. I did most of the decorating in the first 2 weeks and these last two weeks I have been doing little things to get everything done. I still have some boxes in the dining room and the garage. I am replacing the light fixture in the dining room and just havent had the energy to do it so its still in a box. They dont let you pick fixtures and that kind of stuff so lots will be changed out. I just have to wait and do a little at a time. I have been pretty pleased with the way things turned out on the house. I think I did good selecting things for the house considering I picked everything on my lunch hour.
Here are some pictures of the progress so far.

2 weeks

Well we are 2 weeks away from closing on the house and we are excited. I have been trying to get everything together but I havent packed much since I have no where to store the boxes I pack. I am ready to get moved in and not have to drive everyday. I have been having to take Keighton clear across town to daycare, but once we move it will be super close. We have really enjoyed the new babysitter, but I know that Keighton misses Kimber a lot. My mom takes her to watch her sons play baseball so Keighton can see them. We really didnt want to move Keighton, but it just wasnt possible to keep her in Levelland. I am so blessed that Whitney told me about Kimber and they had an opening at the time I needed them. We are going to miss them, but Keighton has made new friends and hopefully she will be able to stay at this one till we get her in school. Wow it sounds like so far away, but time is flying and it will be here before we can turn around twice. Keighton is going through terrible twos at 14 months and boy do we have a time with her. She is fearless and will do anything. She has been so much fun though. Her smile and laugh just melts my heart. I love when she hugs me super tight and gives me kisses, even though they are super wet kisses. Michael is going to school for his EMT certification and he has been doing really good on everything and he is fixing to start rotations. He is upset because he has to deliver a baby and he said he has already done that when Keighton was born. I have been doing to same stuff like always. I still work for the school, but this will probably be my last year at the school. I am planning on going back to school for another degree and I cant wait.
Well thats about it for now. Here are some pics of the house

Random

An update on the house. Not much is going on. They have the plumbing and electrical done. They have also put in the fireplace, bath tubs and showers. I feel like they are not working on it at all so hopefully Im wrong and it will be done by June 30th. We picked out our appliances and ordered them today so thats another thing to mark off my long list of to do's.
We found Keighton a new daycare that I think we are going to love. Her daycare will be close to the house so that will be nice. We will have to drive clear across town till we move because the spot was starting the end of May, but oh well it will give me a chance to go look at the progress on the house.
Michael graduated the Fire Academy last week and so he will be home at night now, so that will be great. We are so proud of him. We never thought that the day would come where he wouldnt have to work all day and then go to school till 10. He still have EMT to take this summer, but he wont be working at the school so all he will have is school during the day.

Our House

Well we are in the process of building our first home. It will be located in Cooper Ridge and we are super excited. I am trying to pick all the stuff for the inside and boy is it hard. Its hard to tell what your whole house will look like with a small little swatch of carpet, tile, cabinets and counter tops. I think I am pretty close to being done picking everything. I have doors and a couple little things. It will be completed by the 30th of June so we are trying to get everything worked out before then. We are trying to find Keighton a daycare in Lubbock and we have lots to do before then. We are going to try and take pictures of the process, but Cooper Ridge is not on the way out of Lubbock coming towards Levelland so its hard to swing by everyday to see the progress they have made.

Keighton's 1st Birthday

Well our baby turned 1 on the 30th, boy does the time fly by. We have enjoyed every minute of it. She had a ladybug themed party and her cake came out so good. We really can't believe a year has already passed. She is growing up so fast.We have more pictures of her eating the cake and opening presents, but they are on Casey's camera

Whats been going on

Well its been months since I have got on here and wrote anything. We have been so busy as a family we never have time for anything. Michael goes to work all day then to school Monday through Thursday and every other weekend. On one of the off weekends he has Army reserves in Amarillo to go to so he is always going. We have one weekend to get to spend together and usually he is so tired we stay home and play with Keighton. I cant wait for him to get done with the Fire Academy and get on at a station. I have been busy with work and being a mom. I feel like there is never enough hours in the day. I leave at 7 and return at 6 so I dont have much time with Keighton before she goes to bed. Keighton amazes me everyday. She is so smart and so advanced. She is 9 months old and weighs 18 lbs. She is starting to walk, as long as we hold a toy or cell phone out. She will take a couple of steps and then decide crawling is much better and faster. She loves being around other kids and she is just a socal butterfly. Not at all like me.
My family is getting ready for a new member of the family. Mr. Carson McKinley Stevens should be here the first of February unless Chelseas blood pressure doesnt go down and then we will find out next week if she has to have a c-section. I am so ready to see him and hold him. I think they are going to be wonderful parents and his nursery looks like it come out of a magazine. It is so cute. Chelsea has the best decorating ideas.
I am going to try and keep up with my blog better and I will be posting pictures of Keighton soon.
